History of Park Avenue
Park Avenue Pentecostal Church began as a plant by Elim Tabernacle in 1954. However, it wasn’t until June 1968 the church became fully established. During the 1970s the assembly say tremendous growth and by May of 1981 a new building seating 500 people was erected.
Over the next 20 years the church still continued to grow. Faced with the challenges of changing demographics, new policies and inadequate facilities, the people begin to explore the possibilities of constructing a new building.
After praying much and exploring many options for the next move, the congregation decided to opt for a major renovation plan instead, and by March of 2005 were once again celebrating in their newly renovated building and reflecting upon the goodness of God.
